Sustainable Handmade Tunics

Made out of 100% organic cotton,natural dyed with wild marigold which gives a bright yellow color. A subtler yellow hue is obtained from zacatlaxcalli, a vine that grows wild in many parts of the state in Oaxaca. Indigo, grown and transformed into dyeing powder is used to dye thread blue. The brown color is obtained from the oak bark collected in the forests of the Sierra Sur. A range of subtle red tones are produced from the cochineal, which is cultivated in the Oaxaca valley. The pods of the native huizache tree are collected in spring and produce a soft gray.
